Media Sales Coordinator (Summer Internship)

Media Matters is looking for a Media Sales Coordinator to help support our team with strategic growth.

As a Media Sales Coordinator you will help the sales team develop sales strategies for our complete print and digital product line, identify leads, develop strategic and creative recommendations, booking opportunities in a media specific CRM.

Description

Perform outbound calls in order to identify key players, qualify business opportunities and schedule discovery meetings
Validate existing information and obtain new customer information such as name, address and email and enter information into computer
Describe products or services, in order to persuade potential customers to subscribe to magazine or purchase advertising space
Develop customer focussed strategic and creative recommendations across multiple platforms
Support the sales team to close business, optimize close rates, and continuously improve pipeline development
Coordinate and complete marketing and sales initiatives in MailChimp, along with other tools such as WordPress, Adobe, Maghub, Google Suite and more
Track key metrics for the department, ensuring accuracy and maintenance
Develop targeted outbound email/drip campaigns to generate sales opportunities
Assist in identifying new sales opportunities and developing outreach strategies with guidance from the sales team

Skills

Enthusiastic and confident on the telephone
Prior customer service experience, with sales is an asset
Computer skills

Ability to sort information and compare data

Exposure to generating email/drip campaigns or interest in learning

Qualifications

Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a post-secondary program in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Eligible to work under the Canada Summer Jobs program (ages 15–30, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection status, and possess a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN))
Interest in sales, media, marketing, or business development
Strong willingness to learn outbound sales techniques and CRM systems
Comfortable learning how to communicate with business professionals over phone and email
Basic understanding of digital tools (Google Workspace, email platforms, or CRM systems)
Knowledge of general advertising and marketing concepts

News Reporter / Journalist (Summer Internship)

Position Description:

Media Matters is seeking a Journalist who will create content for various media, including magazines, websites, daily digital newsletters, video content and social media.

Reporting to the Editor, this role will work collaboratively with the entire team and will learn to think creatively and strategically about content creation, deployment, and analysis.

We’re looking for a creative and curious writer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is self-motivated but also works well with others, regularly contributing useful, innovative ideas that support the online presence of our publications.

Job Description:

Develop, write, edit and proofread for each publication and their websites
Generate original stories & contribute to our daily coverage of industry news
Write industry product spotlights
Adapt and distribute content across social media platforms
Write and optimize headlines, meta descriptions, and tags using SEO/AEO best practices
Interview and write feature stories
Monitor analytics and adjust content strategy based on performance
Attend industry events and trade shows (some travel may be required)

Job Description:

The General Manager’s primary responsibility is providing an exceptional customer experience while leading and maintaining the day-to-day operation of the store in compliance with policies and procedures. The General Manager is responsible to coach each team member’s performance and success in their individual roles. Key Job Responsibilities

Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
Lead and manage all repair facility personnel
Oversee hiring, training, corrective action and termination
Prepare and manage the annual and monthly operating budget of the collision center
Forecast, target and track monthly sales, profit and expenses
Set performance targets and deliver formal annual performance reviews and informal monthly performance reviews
Monitor and maintain all A/P and A/R relating to the Collision Center
Provide training for all staff as necessary
Ensure all staff wear proper safety gear and adhere to dress code
Open and close the facility daily as per established procedures
Conduct or coordinate daily production meetings/walks to oversee work in progress and delivery dates
Manage all estimates and store capacity
Facilitate monthly Health & Safety and staff meetings. Attend monthly managers meetings
Attend training, information sessions and workshops recommended by our Leadership Team
Maintain a clean and organized repair facility at all times
Monitor all maintenance required for all shop equipment, including the paint booth

Minimum Education and/or Experience Required for the Job

Post-Secondary Education or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in a collision repair environment or similar role

Communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
Ability to multitask and function well in a fast-paced environment
Strong knowledge of Google platform and Microsoft Office
