Department: CARSTAR – Summit GM
Reports To: Collision Centre Manager
Classification: Full Time
Compensation: $42.00-$45.00/hour

Position Summary:
As a Collision Auto Body Technician working for the Kaizen Automotive Group, you will be responsible for repairing and restoring vehicles that have been damaged in accidents or collisions. Your expertise will help ensure that repairs are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard of quality while contributing to our customers’ satisfaction and building brand loyalty. You will collaborate with Shop Leadership, Estimators, Parts Associates, and other team members to assess vehicle conditions and perform repairs, while strictly adhering to safety regulations and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform repairs as outlined on repair orders with efficiency, accuracy, and high-quality standards.
- Communicate with Estimators and Parts Associates to source the necessary parts and materials for repairs.
- Assess vehicle conditions to determine if additional repairs or safety work is needed.
- Complete body repairs as per estimates, ensuring all work follows industry and safety standards.
- Perform a variety of body repair tasks, including welding, soldering, frame/unibody repair, and body alignment.
- Operate all equipment in the Collision Centre safely, adhering to Kaizen Automotive Group’s safety procedures and protocols.
- Inspect completed work to ensure it meets organizational and industry Quality Control (QC) standards.
- Properly mix chemicals and materials according to manufacturer specifications and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with all local, provincial, and federal regulations affecting Collision Centre operations in Canada.
- Continually develop product knowledge to provide high-quality repairs and maintain current industry standards.
- Other job duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications & Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable, safe driving history
- Red Seal Auto Body Technician Certification (provincial certification or equivalent)
- ICAR Certification or a willingness to become certified, preferred
- OEM Certification or a willingness to pursue certification, preferred
- 2+ years of experience working as a Collision Repair Technician in an Auto Body repair environment
- Ability to operate various automotive repair tools and heavy machinery, as required
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards and procedures that are at the foundation of the collision repair industry
- Experience with Canadian regulatory standards and environmental safety protocols
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality repairs
- Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
