Job Description
Job Summary
The Automotive Paint & Repair Order Desk Associate is responsible for providing exceptional customer service. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position serves customers in person and by telephone, responds to inquiries and complaints, processes transactions, and acts as a point of escalation for more complex customer concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist collision repair facilities and walk-in customers with orders for automotive paint, paint-related materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Answer and manage incoming telephone calls, directing calls to the appropriate team member as required.
- Receive and process customer orders
- Set up paint formulas and assist customers with product selection and order requirements.
- Process customer returns accurately and in a timely manner.
- Process purchase orders for local purchases.
- Support Sales team members with pricing, part numbers, product information, quotes, and order inquiries.
- Communicate backorders, product availability, and other relevant order information to Sales team members and customers as required.
- Assist Warehouse team members with customer orders, product inquiries, and other day-to-day questions.
- Prepare repair orders for service work.
- Participate in company training and maintain current knowledge of products, services, and procedures.
- Perform other warehouse or logistics duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of previous order desk, parts counter experience required
- Strong base knowledge of automotive paint and automotive repair products & how they are used
- Self starter: Strong ability to learn product, educate yourself, ask questions, be curious
- High school diploma or GED required
- Certificate or diploma in a related field preferred
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse team and customer base.
- Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Able to work well under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Able to handle employee and customer concerns sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally.
- Computer literate, including effective working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and email with previous data entry and typing experience.
- Professional demeanor and strong customer service presence.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Automotive industry experience is considered an asset.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand and walk for long periods
- Able to regularly lift, carry, push and pull items, with the ability to lift 75 lbs throughout the day
