Job Description

The Estimator is responsible for overseeing the areas administration and production, to ensure overall operational compliance and generate maximum profitability. The incumbent is also accountable for all areas of the estimation process and ensuring efficient scheduling protocols.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee production and administrative operations, ensuring SRP are being maintained and compliance being met and processes are running smoothly
  • Maintain positive relationships with insurance appraisers; review estimates with insurance appraisers as delegated by GM
  • Manage all aspects of estimating, including writing estimates, uploading into claims system ensuring all documentation and images are attached and authorization completed. Maintain SRP and insurance compliance standards throughout the process, auditing as required
  • Resolve escalated client complaints in a swift, courteous and professional manor
  • Ensure schedule is set to maximum WIP capacity on a daily basis, and missed appointments are rescheduled as required
  • Schedule repair plan estimates, and act as main point of contact for customer, explaining repair process, during and upon completion of service. Walk through QC checklist with customers
  • Audit all insurance estimates prior to upload
  • Review, update dashboards to ensure required metrics and targets are being met, Applying corrective measures as required
  • Oversee all work in progress, in conjunction with General Manager
  • Ensure all gesture mapping is inputted in summit line items.
  • Complete total loss paperwork and other reports as needed
  • Utilize APU on every estimate

Required Education and Experience

  • 5-7 years’ experience in writing collision estimates
  • Experience with Audatex and Mitchell estimating systems
  • Valid ‘G’ Class Driver’s license and clean driving abstract
  • Experience in using Summit or another management system is an asset
  • I CAR Platinum certification is an asset

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of systems such as CEI claims portal, MCE, Conversense, Collision Link, web CMS (ecars)
  • Strong business acumen and balanced approach to decision making (company, client & employee interests)
  • Working knowledge of Summit Management System and Google drive
  • Understanding of Insurance score cards
  • Ability to deal with difficult customer situations and maintain composure under pressure * Strong negotiation skills
  • Customer focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to motivate and lead a team towards a common goal
  • Self-starter and action oriented
