Job Description

Media Matters is looking for a Media Sales Coordinator to help support our team with strategic growth.

As a Media Sales Coordinator you will help the sales team develop sales strategies for our complete print and digital product line, identify leads, develop strategic and creative recommendations, booking opportunities in a media specific CRM.

Description

  • Perform outbound calls in order to identify key players, qualify business opportunities and schedule discovery meetings
  • Validate existing information and obtain new customer information such as name, address and email and enter information into computer
  • Describe products or services, in order to persuade potential customers to subscribe to magazine or purchase advertising space
  • Develop customer focussed strategic and creative recommendations across multiple platforms
  • Support the sales team to close business, optimize close rates, and continuously improve pipeline development
  • Coordinate and complete marketing and sales initiatives in MailChimp, along with other tools such as WordPress, Adobe, Maghub, Google Suite and more
  • Track key metrics for the department, ensuring accuracy and maintenance
  • Develop targeted outbound email/drip campaigns to generate sales opportunities
  • Assist in identifying new sales opportunities and developing outreach strategies with guidance from the sales team

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) a post-secondary program in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Eligible to work under the Canada Summer Jobs program (ages 15–30, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection status, and possess a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN))
  • Interest in sales, media, marketing, or business development
  • Strong willingness to learn outbound sales techniques and CRM systems
  • Comfortable learning how to communicate with business professionals over phone and email
  • Basic understanding of digital tools (Google Workspace, email platforms, or CRM systems)
  • Knowledge of general advertising and marketing concepts
